I have organised a little milonguita to welcome the beginners, who have almost completed their 1st eight weeks of tango, into the greater Nelson tango scene.
"Milonga" is the name of the tango social dancing night... it is really what tango is all about - it is the reason you come to class, do workshops, watch videos, buy new shoes and fabulous dresses, listen to the bandoneon, have an opinion on tango music and styles of dance. It is all about meeting new people, catching up with old friends and dancing to great music in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. So come along beginners and try out your first milonga with us!
What: Milonguita for the Beginners

Location: The Boathouse on Rocks Road
Time: 5.45 pm till 8pm
Cost: FREE
BYO plate to share and whatever you would like to drink and a vessel to drink out of!
I will bring the music, a mix of traditional and nuevo and we can all sit out on the deck, have a dance and watch the sun go down over the Tasman Bay.
To all our more experienced dancers, please come and have a few tandas with our beginners, show them what the tango is all about and let's encourage them to try out their new skills!
Of course that means that at the Sunday Technique Class will be on at the earlier time of 4pm - 5.30pm then we can all head down to the beautiful Boathouse and dance the early evening away.
