Vals Vals Vals

1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3

Yes we have been valsing for the past two weeks and are loving it!

We accidentally swooned into vals when I put on the wrong music in class and thought ... "Let's do a vals class!" .... this is turning into a workshop extravaganza!  So please come to this Sundays class at 4pm so we can continuing whirling (in control) around the dance floor!

Here is a beautiful Vals by Ariadna and Fernando (which I know I have shown before but I just love their musicality!)  We will learn the move on Sunday which they do at 1:12 ;-)

Sit back, relax and enjoy.

Fancy a trip to Wellington with me?

9 - 10 August 2013 Workshops and milonga

9 AUGUST - THE GREAT GATSY MILONGA IN WELLINGTON
I am Djing the Great Gatsby Milonga on 9 August at Tango Atelier's Milonga - flyer coming
I am in the midst of creating a fabulous Great Gatsby playlist and have collected a great number of 1920s and 1930s tangos for the milonga. You may also see me around town trying on some 1920's hairpieces to look the part!  Someone asked me if there would be any nuevo music at the milonga ... my answer? YES - absolutely from the 1940s!!
(For a little more more inspiration I thought I would go to the The Great Gatsby movie this Thurs night... let me know if you would like to join me.)

And then I will be teaching 2 workshops on Saturday 10th August in Wellington and be back in Nelson to teach the Sunday Technique Class on the 11th!

Workshop 1
Working together to find Fluidity and Dynamics in your dance
This workshop will look at how to create fluid movement and dynamism together using your own energy, the embrace and communication as a starting point.  Open to all levels.  This workshop will give you the valuable techniques needed for the following workshop.

Workshop 2
Spiralling in Control
Learn how to connect to and move from your centre using this spiralling technique for pivots, turns and also to create space and quietness in the dance. This technique will prove to be an enjoyable and accessible technique for us all.  We will also focus on the ideas of active following and generous leading to support this technique.  This will make every tango seem special and highly enjoyable!

I will also be available for private lessons in Wellington so if you know anyone who lives over there and would like to join me for some workshops please pass on the info and Sharon's contact details:
