Movie and Milonga Night 28 June

Hello everyone,

We are back from another truly amazing Tango Festival, exhausted but happy!!

We have danced our socks off and are ready to keep dancing this Friday night at the Monthly Movie and Milonga Night.  I am very excited to bring to you another great tango documentary which will touch your hearts followed by a few more hours of dancing together.

The documentary this Friday night is called "La Confiteria Ideal"

This film examines La Confiteria Ideal, a Buenos Aires dance hall where fervent devotees of tango flock to escape everyday life.
Included in this documentary are wonderful interviews with famous milongueros: Gerardo Portalea, Javier Rodriguez & Geraldine Rojas, a young Mariano "Chicho" Frumboli with his dreams of his future and Puppy Castello.  Also interviews with everyday people about their experiences of and at La Confiteria Ideal.

If you have been to this milonga in Buenos Aires you will recognise some of the locals who frequent there to this day!  You will also recognise it as the famous milonga that was highlighted in Sally Potter's The Tango Lesson. This is a great opportunity to introduce your non dancing friends to tango and to give them a taste of our Nelson tango community.
Non dancers $10 for the evening. (Its cheaper than going to the movies!)

Please join me on this Friday night, 28 June.
Doors open at 6.30, movie commences at 7pm sharp.

PRACTILONGA CANCELLED FOR JUNE AND JULY

Hi everyone,

With the winter months descending upon us I have done an informal poll and the general consensus is not to have the Practilonga for a couple of months..... but a resounding YES to the MOVIE AND MILONGA NIGHTS!

So no Practilonga this Friday 7 June nor Friday 5 July but we will see you all on the dance floor at the next

MOVIE AND MILONGA NIGHT
28 JUNE at the MASONIC HALL, 107 NILE ST
7PM, $15

MOVIE TO BE ANNOUNCED!

SAVE THE DATE of 28 JUNE - because it is guaranteed to be another wonderful evening of dancing and celebrating tango.  Remember this is the prefect time to introduce someone new to tango, they can watch a great story about tango, watch some dancing, maybe even give it a go with some of our very generous leaders and just get to meet you all and see what an awesome community you have created.
