Wow what a fantastic weekend it was last weekend - I cannot believe a week has almost passed already! This time last week we were well into the second day of workshops with Cecilia, soaking up at the sun in the breaks and devouring Tracey’s now famous scallop pies. We danced, relaxed, ate, danced, relaxed, ate and met some wonderful new people.
Thank you all for coming to Golden Bay - clearly there were a few very special factors in making this weekend so memorable.
Golden Bay was the host of the weekend, turning on the most exquisite weather and providing the locations for all the venues!
Cecilia of course is our star teacher and we cannot wait for her to come back next year (but alas we will have to!). Her teaching was, as always, fun, informative and very well structured.
Tracey’s Zatori was the perfect venue for the weekend to unfold from, all the meals were delicious, the dance floor smooth and the view unforgettable.
Wholemeal Cafe - well - what a surprise that cafe was for most of you who wowed as you walked in - feeling like you were back in Buenos Aires (La Catedral springs to mind for those of us who have spent some time in the home of tango)
DJS - well yes fabulous! Graham, Nina and Deb - you had us dancing all night and we loved it! Rumour has it there was even some swing dancing going on later into the early hours ;-)
and YOU - yes you all were so wonderful to work and hang out with. Thank you for participating so fully in the weekend. It is not so often that we get to all be in the same places sharing food, dances, relaxed time, tiredness. Special thanks to Pedro and Maria who travelled from Australia - it was very special to have you there and you both added a touch of glamour to the event:-)
I am so looking forward to doing it again next year.
I am compiling a few photos together from people who have been sending them through and will be dropping them into Dropbox for you all to have a look at. Maybe there is one of you?! I hope it is a good pastiche of the feeling of the weekend.
I will send them tomorrow. I will also post the videos when I have compiled them all as well.
In the meantime - let’s not be strangers! See you at the NZ Tango Festival which is just around the corner and I would really love to see you in Nelson in March for the 5th Summer Tango in Nelson. I’ll keep you all on the email list for next year and looking forward to dancing again soon.
Tango Love
A-M
