Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a great Easter break, thanks for coming to class on Easter Monday  - was fun!

We welcome back our tango friends who have been dancing in Buenos Aires for a few weeks and look forward to catching up with them and their dance stories over the next few weeks and at the next Milonga!

For the beginners - a milonga is the social night - and your chance to dance for a few hours and really practice what you have been learning.  For a more formal discussion on the milonga you can check out my website and read all about it.  We look forward to welcoming you into the fold on 15 April.  Hope you can all make it.

I am available for Private lessons at my home studio, The Tango Room, most afternoons - so please drop me a line if you want more info.  This is the best way to fast track your learning   - and is fun to boot!

Matthew Civil (tango teacher from Wellington) is coming over to Golden Bay with me and we will teach a series of fun workshops and hold a couple of milongas on the weekend of 29 April - 1 May.   Hope you can come and join us :-)  More info to come re: the schedule.

19th February Milonga in Nelson

Hola Tangueros  Classes started last week - a great turn out for the first class of the year.  Thanks for coming :-)   Beginners course starts  22 February - SPREAD THE WORD! Gloria and Graham are coming to town next weekend and we have a few visiting dancers coming to do classes as well - that's exciting!  Please come and support  their workshops and milonga on Anniversary weekend.  See the flyer attached and click onto the blog to see it in bigger form. It has been lamented to me that there are no more free milongas in Nelson.  I think it would be wonderful to have a once a month free milonga somewhere visible.  Any ideas?  Would anyone like to organise it? I'm totally behind the idea and willing to lend an ear to help you get started and to support it! Summer Tango is only 46 days away!! We will have a tangle of dancers coming into Nelson... some are looking for a host dancer/family to have fun with so if you have a spare bed and room in your car - please let me know so I can marry you up.    Remember if you live in town, most of the milongas are walking distance from town so your guests will be able to occupy themselves a little bit too. Once again those dates to watch our for in 2016 ...  this weekend - Gloria and Graham from Christchurch for workshops and milonga. 15 February Monday class - Alberto and Natalia from Melbourne teaching milonga x 2 classes 20 Feb - 20 March - Quique is here for Summer Tango!   4-5 March - A-M teaching in Auckland (want to join me?) Summer Tango in Nelson 11-13 March 29-31 April - Matthew Civil and I teaching in Golden Bay 29 June - 5 July - NZ Tango Festival in Wellington  20 June till ..... Quique returns 16-18 Sept Golden Bay Tango Weekend with A-M October , the wonderful Cecilia Gonzalez returns So I suggest you plan your holidays accordingly! MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS Old St John's,  320 Hardy Street behind the Church 6pm Doors Open 6.30 - 8pm Class $15 at this stage there is only one class for Improvers and Intermediate combined.   Times change from 22 Feb.  This class will start at 7.15pm. ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS COURSE 22-Feb - 18 April (Monday nights) 6pm - 7.15pm $100  pp for 8 weeks (no class 14 March) $170  per dancing couple Don't forget we meet at Cafe Affair for a drink before class from 5pm.
