Hosana and Anibal

My lovely friends Hosana and Anibal performing in Sydney and coming to the NZ Tango Festival!  YAY!
A very nice performance.

THANK YOU!

Special thanks to Nicki, Kay and Bevan, Sophie and Mike and of course my fabulous partner Jon for performing with me and promoting the tango at the Bride of The Year fundraiser.  We all had a fabulous (if not slightly nervous time) and the performance went really well.  The crowd went mad and whooped when the boys came on stage.  We all dressed in black and looked very sleek and panther like.  A lovely contrast to the elegant and very white brides!

We promoted the new beginners class starting on July 11... lets hope we get some more budding tangueros so we can make Nelson the Tango hub of NZ!

New Beginners Course - 11 July

11 July heralds the beginning of the last 8 week beginners course for the year.

11 July
7.45 – 8.45pm
Monday nights for 8 weeks
St John’s Hall, Hardy St
$130 for the course

Please spread the word and keep the tango community growing.  If you have anyone who is interested they can email me and please feel free to share this blog with them.

While I am in Wellington at the NZ Tango Festival, Tony has offered to open the Monday night doors and fill the hall with his selection of Tango music for a practica to keep the night alive.  A gold coin (or red note!) donation towards the hall hire would be appreciated.

Bride of the Year

No I am not getting married!
Tango libre has been asked to perform at the Bride of The Year Hospice fundraising event to be held in Hope on Saturday evening 11 June.

We will be dancing a tango to Gotan Projects "Una Musical Brutal" and a quirky milonga to Canaro's "Milonga Criolla".

The performers are Kay, Nicki, Bevan, Sophie and Mike, Jon and myself.  It is a great opportunity to promote the dance and I am very proud of all the performers for all the time and effort they have been putting into rehearsing.  Wish us luck!
